Autograph letter : [Cincinnati], to [Lafcadio Hearn], [1876].

Stating that she does not understand his letter, inquiring "my dearest pet are you a coquette?" Asking that he write to her to say that life is not worth living without her. Referencing her cousin's attendance at the 1876 Centennial. Stating that "the only sad thing that can befall a man is when he loses faith in God and woman," praying that he will never lose his faith in her, and expressing confidence that he will not.
